It is so hard to believe that in a week we will be celebrating another Thanksgiving Day. The year has gone by so fast that if you blink too long, you would miss it. This is usually the time of year when families get together for the traditional 3 F's (Family, Food and Football) there's nothing a full day of eating and sleeping!
A couple of years ago, I did a blog post on Thanksgiving alternatives. I thought it would be appropriate to comb through the archives and share the information again. These ideas can help you when you are planning your menu whether it before a big family or whether it is just for you. If you are going to be alone this year, consider doing something to help you get through the day. The main thing that I can think of is to volunteer. Use this day to be thankful you are able to help others. Look at local websites to see where shelters, food banks, or other places may be in need of assistance in feeding the community. It will be very rewarding and you can help families though you may not be around your own. Even if you do have your family close by, consider asking them to join you. It will help make the day even more special.
